Unsigned Kentucky style smoothbore flintlock made in the Lehigh County, Pennsylvania-style circa the late 1700's to early 1800's. 43 - 1/4" octagon smoothbore .55 caliber barrel with rifle sights with Lehigh-style double line marking visible on barrel flat behind rear sight. Curly maple incised carved full stock with 'C' scroll pattern incised carving behind cheek, arrow and floral carving around tang, and wrist with Lehigh-style Liberty Cap or Indian motif in front trigger guard. Stock has brass hardware including a 2-piece engraved patchbox and arrow-style sideplate both often seen on rifles made around the Allentown, Pennsylvania area. Unmarked flintlock with turned tail trigger control. Comes with original looking ramrod with worm attachment. Great gun. CONDITION: Metal shows a brown patina with some evidence of pitting. Lock appears to be original lock and not a conversion. Brass looks to have been cleaned long ago and has returned to a pleasing golden patina. Wood appears free of any restoration except for a repaired crack at forend which seems secure with pleasing aged finish. Dark bore with sticky mechanics. DLM
