Manufactured circa 1872-1888 in standard configuration for use by the US military. Martially inspected on left grip panel "CRS" (Curtis R. Stickney). Marked "P" and "S" on left side of frame, with Remington patent information and serial number. CONDITION: Excellent, with nearly all of the thinning original blue remaining on barrel with scattered light oxidation and handling marks. Frame retains bright remnants of original case colors, with top and bottom edges worn to a gray patina. Hammer and breech block retain their bright finish with light oxidation. Forearm and grip are excellent as cleaned with no major sign of distress and cartouche faint but legible. Mechanically fine. Bore is bright with sharp rifling.
