Military inspected Model 1860 produced in 1862, early in the war production. It is a standard issue with round barrel, rebated cylinder with Naval scene, blue and case colored, brass trigger guard, and steel backstrap. The one piece walnut grips have the cartouche stamp on left side of Chester Leonard "CSL". The right grip is stamped "JT" for John Taylor. Both stamps are faint. Military stamps on metal as follows: inspector stamp "H" behind trigger bow and behind hammer, "M" at left rear barrel, "O" on right rear barrel, and "C" on cylinder. Revolver has matching numbers on frame, barrel, trigger guard and backstrap. The cylinder and wedge are not numbered. The last two digits of the serial number were factory re-stamped at the factory to correct an error. CONDITION: All metal surfaces are basically a soft patina with sharp legends. 85% complete cylinder scene. Action is fine and bore is strong.
