Full octagon barrel marked with "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CT. / KINGS IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29, 1866 OCTOBER 16, 1860". Magazine is of a half style type. Standard front sight with a reverse rear sight. Brass frame with medium usage with some roundness of corners on both sides. Sideplates look as though they have never been removed. Rifle comes equipped with a nickel hammer, trigger and lever. Also a nickeled carrier lifter, nickel breech bolt and extractor as well as a nickeled loading gate. "XXX" deluxe grade American walnut. All numbers match. Screw heads have the appearance of being nickel plated as well. Even the latch lever is nickel plated. Cleaning rod mounted behind trap door in buttplate. Octagon barrel retains 75% original blue with balance to a light to medium patina. Reverse rear barrel sight is 65-75% blue. Brass forearm cap is without any marrs or scratches. Comes equipped with a sling eye attached to bottom of forearm cap and a sling eye attached to bottom of stock. Brass receiver has very few light impressions on left sideplate, few chemical marks on top flat of receiver. Right side of receiver with a few dings around the loading gate. Left side of stock has some scratches and light to moderate dings in wrist area of stock. Stock has a dark appearance but retains its fancy burl wood pattern. Finish remaining is about 60-70% on both sides. No splits, slivers or cracks on upper or lower tang. Bright shiny bore with deep rifling, minor surface pitting.
