Made circa 1859 by William S. Schneider & Company in Memphis, Tennessee. Rifle features full octagon rifled barrel with buckhorn rear notch sight and silver blade front. Barrel is stamped "Schneider & Co Memphis Tenn". Engraved commercial percussion lock with double set triggers. Walnut halfstock with brass hardware including an engraved pineapple finial cap box. Original hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Overall aged patina with handling dings and marks. Toe area slightly worn and missing some wood. Strong rifling with good mechanics. DLM
