Lot consists of: (A) Swiss 1896/11 bolt action rifle. Converted from a standard 1896 to the 1911 pattern some time between 1911-1920. All serials match, minus the stock. No import mark. Standard length barrel, with a blade front sight and tangent rear. Original blued finish. Hardwood stock with an oil finish and metal buttplate. Added pistol grip is correct for 96/11 updated rifle. Includes an original muzzle cover. CONDITION: Metal retains 85% of its original finish with minor handling marks. Stock is very good with minor handling marks. Lightly frosted bore with sharp rifling. Mechanically excellent. (B) Swiss 1889 Schmidt-Rubin bolt action rifle. Standard configuration with all matching serial numbers. No visible import mark. Standard barrel length, with a blade front sight and tangent rear. Original blued finish. Hardwood stock with an oil finish and metal buttplate. Buttstock has a large "BS" carved into the left side and a rack number of "4" on top of the comb. Includes an original leather sling, which is broken. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with some areas of wear. Stock is good overall with general handling dings and scratches. Clean bore with sharp rifling. The "keg" bolt handle is missing a large chunk out of the bottom and is heavily worn. Mechanically fine. Sling is fair, and is again broken off. JWA
