Octagonal to round barrel with a bead front sight on a slightly raised platform, flip up notch rear sight dovetailed into rib, and claw scope mounts; rib with anti-glare matting, "ANTONIN NOVAK KLADNO" in an open lozenge, and a Franz Sodia eagle logo. Sling bow on stud soldered to underside of barrel. Double Kersten locks, disc set striker, and ejector. Underside of barrel with numerous proofs, including a nitro proof and 1935 date. Splinter, slightly schnabeled, forend with point and wave checkering, Deely style latch release, exterior of iron engraved with scroll and bouquets of florals. Case colored scalloped boxlock action with extensive scroll and floral bouquet engraving en suite with forearm iron, additional ribbons engraved "ANTONIN NOVAK", Sodia's eagle, and cocking indicator. Tang mounted safety. Long tang horn trigger guard protects double triggers, rear set. 2 panels of point pattern checkering about the wrist. Stock of a lightly fiddled streaky grain walnut with sling swivel on stud at toe line and leather pad with Purdey style leather covered screws. Hensoldt-Wetzlar Dialytan 4x fixed power scope, serial number 2494 with German #1 "fence post" reticle. Housed in an associated faux leather wrapped case with blue lining. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrel retains virtually all of the bluing with some minor handling marks, some silvering near where the forearm makes contact. Crisp engraving and legends. Forearm is very good with exterior metal essentially dove grey and significant case color on interior. Wood has some handling marks, impressions, and a few abraded heads. Action with excellent case colors in protected areas, fading to dove grey towards edges, crisp engraving. Stock is very good as refinished, with some varnish drips visible on right side, impressions and dings from the field, including 4 dings to sidepanel that seem a little too uniform to be accidental and may be intentional. Checkering recut. Bore with strong rifling and some minor frosting. Mechanically fine. Scope is very slightly hazy with a crisp reticle and attaches appropriately. Case is good with numerous handling marks and scrapes to exterior, interior is very good.
