This is an extremely fine custom Springfield 1903 NRA Sporter with a 4 groove barrel. Fitted with a classic Redfield banded front sight and Lyman 48. The barrel has been finished to bright blue. The bolt has been jeweled showing evidence of previous rust spotting. Bolt has been altered for low scope clearance, pear-shaped checkered handle installed. The safety has been customized. The receiver has been tapped for scope mounts, and the trigger has been replaced with a Canjar trigger. The spring follower has been modified to close on the ejection of the last round. Stock features right hand shadow line Monte Carlo cheekpiece, point pattern checkering, ebony grip cap, sling eyes, and swivel mounts. American walnut stock measures 13-1/4" over Neidner type checkered steel buttplate. CONDITION: Barrel and receiver retain essentially all custom blue finish. The bolt shows evidence of rust and wear around the safety and firing pin rod. Stocks have oil finish, with a few light subsequent marks. Bore is very fine. This is truly an American classic. JTH
