28" dovetail lump barrels. Single brass bead on smooth concave tapered rib light engraving at breech, rib inlaid with "2", indicating manufacture as one of a pair. Barrel flats with diagnostic proofs for 12 gauge and later reproof and stamped J Harper. Ejectors. Forearm with Anson release, checkered in point pattern throughout. Exterior metal is engraved with tight scroll; "2" on interior iron. Scalloped boxlock action engraved with tight scroll, both sides with "E.M. REILLY & Co LONDON" in a ribbon. Side panels converging to teardrops. Opening lever with gold inlaid "2". Automatic safety with "SAFE" inlaid in gold. Floorplate, trigger guard, safety, opening lever, and tang blued. Prince of Wales grip with two panels of point pattern checkering. Added Decelerator pad with black line spacer. Silver escutcheon at toe. Housed in a Teyssier leather case with two spent shotgun shells intended for use as snap caps. CONDITION: Good as rehabilitated. Barrels retain much of the reapplied blue with some softness to engraving as a result and a few marks from handling and operation. Forearm is very good with an extra coat of varnish. and a small chip missing near the Anson release which has pulled away from the wood somewhat. Action is very good with strong engraving and some areas of age related staining. Stock with an added layer of varnish. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bores are very good with a few minor specks throughout. Ejectors are in time. Case is fine as associated. EW
