Circa 1931 - 1943. This little .410 gun has been built with 28" blacked barrels with 3" chambers, ejectors, and a solid, raised, flat filed rib with extension and off-white front bead sight. Left side of left barrel reads "CHAMBERED FOR 3IN SHELLS" in oval. Rear lump stamped with a "P" in a circle. Barrel flat reads "S 2742 E". Chokes are Improved Cylinder and Cylinder. The blacked boxlock action is stamped with patent information and the gun's serial number "S 2742 E" on water table. Action is built with double triggers and a third fastener. Slide safe is serrated and "SAFE" is stamped in between checkered top lever and safe slide. Left side of action is engraved "IVER JOHNSON", "SKEET-ER". Right side of action is engraved "IVER JOHNSON'S ARMS & CYCLE WORKS", "FITCHBURGH MASS, U.S.A". Gun is non-auto safe. A deep honey-colored pistol gripped stock with sharp checkering is finished by an Iver Johnson plastic plate. Black grip cap fancily reads "IVER JOHNSON". Plate with Owl in circle logo. The matched beavertail forearm is built with matched checkering, blacked iron metal, and a Deeley-styled latch release. Interior iron metal is blacked and carries gun's serial number. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain 95% black with some handling marks and silvering at muzzle. Action, trigger, and ejectors operate well. Stock and forend are excellent with some light handling marks and most likely gun is benefitting from a nice refurbishment. Nice gun! CP
