Vintage and handsome J.P. Sauer .30 USG (30-06) Mauser 1906 bolt action stalking rifle. Semi-round 21" fluid steel Krupp Essen barrel with Lyman rear peep sight, full length narrow filed rib and blade foresight. Action with thumb cut, double set triggers, case colored bolt, grey patina butter knife bolt handle and flag safe. Engraved action and nicely engraved floorplate with stag and fawn. Stock most likely European walnut with pistol grip and horn cap, Schnable forend, heel plate and a length of pull of 14". Studs for sling on stock and barrel. CONDITION: Strong bore and rifle retains about 70% of its bluing although trigger guard and floorplate have lost some of their black. Rib with replacement fill for removed rear sight. Stock appears to have a bit of filler at the top of the grip and just under the bolt, forend and stock both have some handling marks. CP
