Extremely rare and desirable Parker CHE Grade 2-barrel set built in 1929 by Parker Brothers Gun Company. This fine Parker has the status of being the only CHE Grade 28 gauge made with 30" barrels, according to "The Parker Story." It should also be mentioned that this gun comes with an extra set of factory 26" barrels, making it 1 of only 6 in that configuration, 1 of only 16 in 28 gauge, and only 1 of 697 total CH Grades made! 30" set of barrels features blued finish, matted rib, ejectors, period red Lyman high visibility sight with bone mid-bead sight, Parker address, and "Acme" Steel markings. Barrels are choked Improved Cylinder and Improved Cylinder. These barrels are noted in the Parker Serialization Book. Second set of barrels are 26" blued "ACME" Steel with 2 - 3/4" chambers, ejectors, matted rib, single bead front sight, and choked Improved Cylinder and Cylinder. Gun is mentioned in the Parker Serialization Book as having extra barrels and ejectors. Case hardened "00" frame boxlock action with standard CH grade engraving with pointing dog and floral design on left and right sides and flushed woodcock on bottom of the receiver. Dogs, birds, and serial number have been emphasized in gold post factory. Action is fitted with a Parker single selective trigger, non-automatic safety, blued floral engraved English-style trigger guard (not noted in Parker Serialization Book). Figured checkered American walnut English grip stock with checkered wood butt and carved diamond side panels. Each barrel has a designated matching walnut factory beavertail forearm with diamond and point pattern checkering and case-hardened floral latch release. Comes with a PGCA letter certifying all options and in a maker's label leather-covered trunk case. CONDITION: 30" barrels have 98% original blue with light freckling and edge wear with chokes possibly opened. 26" set have what appears to be 95% original blue with evidence of some repair work near the muzzle with an area of discoloration near the muzzle and chokes possibly opened to aid in repair. Action has 90% case colors, which were possibly reapplied when gold work was done, with the receiver showing evidence of carry wear with the area starting to fade to silver. There is a small area left of the trigger with several spots of discoloration. Lever is right at the dead center, action locks up tight. Action screws have been turned but are in time. Forearm iron metal retains 90% case with 30" showing a purple color from a possible refinish. Trigger guard has 98% of a total reblue remaining. Wood appears lightly cleaned with 98% varnish and small handling marks with checkering starting to flatten in grip areas (if refinished, resembles Remington work and was done long ago). The 26" forearm has a small chip out of the left side top. Mirror bores with good mechanics. Case in good condition. A fine old Parker with a lot of rare options.
