Manufactured late 1937-1940. Blue finish with checkered plastic Walther grips. Crown "N" proofed on slide, chamber and barrel with traditional Walther banner commercial address. 60 degree safety. The SA-NSDAP encompassed over 28 different SA Gruppes in Nazi German with all of them utilizing Walther to supply their organizational marked pistols. Each Gruppe or district's markings were panagraphed on the grip strap, with some Gruppes having numerous pistols while other smaller Gruppes had considerably fewer pistols. Very few examples survived the ravages of World War II however a few were captured and brought to the United States as souvenirs. This wonderful example is marked on the front strap: "SA der NSDAP/Gruppe Mitte". This being the central district of Berlin (MITTE) this pistol comes from the true hotbed of the Third Reich. The SA segment of NSDAP acted as the police force for the protection of these early Brownshirts or Storm Troopers as they were known. CONDITION: Good with excellent bore and mechanics. The slide has two areas of what appear to be blood pitting; one is forward of the ejection port on the right side and the other is at the forward area of the slide on the left. The "SA NSDAP " markings on the front are very good and are authentic. The grips are very fine. The magazine is a period Walther banner marked magazine with flat base. Pistol is displayed in a modern blue leatherette case with red lining. A very rare pistol that was only recently discovered. TDW
