Manufactured early 1918. Remington-UMC manufacture with traditional Remington-UMC markings on left side of slide. Small "E" inspection over firing pin slot and right side of slide marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY CALIBER 45". Frame is marked on left side "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" with E.E.C. (Edward E. Chapman) inspection and eagle over 28 (Chapman) inspection above magazine release. Left side of frame is simply marked "NO 15926". Barrel is blue finish with left trunnion marked S P and B1 on left side of lower chamber area. Grips are diamond pattern checkered walnut. Trigger is smooth long 1911 trigger and hammer is checkered long hammer without border. Safety and slide stop are both checkered. Magazine is unmarked with two pin base. CONDITION: Good as post-World War I refinished for possible World War II use. Slide is grey/green parkerized. Frame is brushed blue with 60% turning patina at straps and high points. Bore is decent with strong rifling and darkness in grooves. Magazine is parkerized finish. Action operates properly. TDW
