Half moon front sight, U notch flat top rear sight. Appropriate "PATNTED APR. 20, 1897 / SEPT. 9, 1902. DEC. 19, 1905, FEB. 14, 1911 / COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO" and "SPRINGFIELD ARMORY / U.S.A." markings on left side of slide. Right side of slide with eagle insignia and "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY". Barrel marked "S P" on left side of lug. Right side of frame with serial number. Left side of dust cover with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", flaming bomb proof under slide release. Small "S" proof observed on inside of slide release, inside of firing pin retaining plate, on right side of grip safety, inside of barrel bushing. Detailed disassembly to examine internals was not performed. Small parts comprise checkered spurred hammer, thin tab safety with relief mill cut, checkered slide release with mill cut, short 1911 grip safety, long milled trigger, checkered magazine release, smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. 2 tone magazine with distinct folded wings and lanyard loop. CONDITION: Very good retaining much of the blue finish with some mixing with brown primarily visible on top of slide. Some heavy silvering on high edges toward muzzle consistent with holster use and some silvering to reciprocating areas. Takedown mark. Straps are very good with some brown patina forming but retaining much blue. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent. EW
