Made in Japan, this stunning three barrel set has two sets of 20 bore barrels, one 26" with more open chokes, one 28" with tighter chokes, and a set of 16 bore barrels. There is one splinter forend that is interchangeable for each set of barrels. Barrel set (A) is a 28" set with Mod/Full choke markings and rare 2 - 3/4" or 3" chamber marking. The splinter forend is checkered with fleur-de-lis checkering and has fully engraved Deeley release and steel tip. Barrel set (B) is 26" with Q1 & Q2 Chokes and 2 - 3/4" chambers. Barrel set (C) is a 16 bore set with 2 - 3/4" chamber marking made by Merkel with reinforced forend lug and is 28" long. All three barrel sets have a 1 - 1/2" scroll wedge at breech ends, matted concave game ribs, and small brass front beads. The case colored action is fantastically engraved in full coverage shaded Acanthus leaf scroll with two gold inlaid woodcock on right, setter bust on bottom, and two gold inlaid quail on left. The barrel fences are triple beaded and engraved as is the top tang and top lever. There is an engraver initial "K" noted on the top tang which is the signature of noted gunsmith Kim Aylworth of MI who accomplished this great work. Made with gold plated single selective trigger, auto ejectors, and auto safety. The honey colored Circassian walnut buttstock is checkered with fleur-de-lis checkered side panels and fleur-de-lis behind action and flowing pattern through the wrist. The capped pistol grip with gold washer and gold cap with initials of our consignor, CWB (Carl W. Balderson). The butt terminates with a finely engraved and checkered skeleton buttplate. Housed in a modern oak and leather case with tan canvas cover with maroon felt interior and Parker Reproductions trade label. Also comes with 2 original Parker reproduction boxes that are numbered to the gun. CONDITION: Extremely fine and near mint. Retains virtually all original finish to both wood and metal with only the most minor of handling marks in the wood. Appears unfired since proof. Case is excellent with only minor rubs. Boxes are very good with rubs. This arm is a work of functional art. PROVENANCE: From the Carl Balderson Jr. Estate Collection. JSL
