Chopper lump barrels with single bead on tapered raised vent rib with machine matting. Barrels signed "CHARLES BOSWELL / LONDON" on barrels, light line engraving at breech. Barrel flats with diagnostic proofs for Nitro proofing, 20 gauge, 2 - 3/4" chambers. Hidden third fastener. Beavertail forend with point pattern checkering throughout with two case colored escutcheons. Anson style release. Exterior iron engraved with florals and geometrics. Five pin sidelock case hardened and engraved with florals, left side with two pheasants in a marshland, right side with two quail in another marshland. Bottom of receiver with another bird (quail?) in flight. All birds inlaid in gold. "CHARLES BOSWELL" inlaid in a ribbon on bottom of receiver. Florals engraved on blued trigger guard. Teardrops behind action. Pistol grip stock with two panels of point pattern checkering at wrist. Silver shield at toe. Checkered butt. Accompanied by an associated leather case lined in red with a reproduction Charles Boswell label in lid. CONDITION: Very good as professionally restored. Retains virtually all of the reapplied finishes with a few very minor marks from handling and operation and a few minor areas of roughness visible under blue. Wood is very good as gently refreshed with a few minor bumps and bruises from gentle use. One minor chip at toe. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bores are excellent. Ejectors are in time. EW

CORRECTION: This gun is likely a transitional gun made on a W.C. Scott action in London, Ontario.
