Designed in the late 1950s by legendary firearms designer Mikail Kalashnikov, the PK series of general-purpose machine guns have remained a mainstay among frontline Russian armed forces as well as numerous other countries who have either imported or produced their own variants since Russia's initial adoption in the early 1960s. This example was imported by and produced by Wise Lite Arms with meticulously selected parts and components that matched MalColMar's standards of quality. The right side of the receiver is marked "WISE LITE ARMS/ BOYD, TEXAS/ 7.62x54R PKM/ SER # WLA28-GL401", with the left side being marked "ruz", "SAFE", and "FIRE" at the selector switch. Features include a black enamel finish, 24" barrel with integral bakelite carry handle, standard AK pattern front sight, PKM pattern rear sight with graduations from 100 - 1500 meters, bakelite pistol grip, as well as a laminated wood buttstock with a hinged buttplate. All visible numbers are matching. This example is accompanied by its reproduction transit chest containing 1 100-round ammo can, 2 200-round ammo cans, ammo can carrying straps, sling, tarpaulin canvas carrying case, cleaning rod, as well as some additional small parts and components. Also accompanying this example is the original MalColMar manuals, invoice, as well as a letter from MarColMar Firearms owner, Dave Bane, thanking Mr. Knight, Mr. Moody, and Col. Craig for their purchase of MalColMar's semi-automatic PKM. Finally is the cardboard shipping box from MarColMar to Topgun and Sporting Goods in Florida, with invoice identifying this gun by serial number. PROVENANCE: From the collection of esteemed NFA firearms enthusiast and collector J. R. Moody. CONDITION: Near new, with metal components retaining virtually all of their black enamel finish, exhibiting a few minor superficial marks overall from handling and storage. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Laminated wood buttstock and bakelite pistol grip are excellent. Transit case is excellent. An extremely fine, near-new example of a highly desirable PKM semi-automatic rifle. MLW
