Made 2016 to commemorate Chris Kyle, the SEAL sniper who was shot on February 2nd, 2013, while attempting to help a fellow veteran who was suffering mental trauma. Kyle favored the Springfield Operator pistols, and wrote about them in his book, carrying one into Fallujah. These pistols were made after the Operator that Chris carried in a special serial number range, and a portion of the proceeds were donated by Springfield to the Chris Kyle FROG Foundation. 3 dot tritium sights, fixed drift-adjustable front and adjustable Springfield armory rear. Typical Operator rollmarks throughout, 1913 accessory rail, and small parts. Custom American Flag emblazoned G10 grips. In the presentation case, listing this gun by the correct number, 619, in special American flag foam French cut for the gun and a commemorative FROG Foundation coin. Accompanied by the appropriate copy of Chris Kyle's book, American Sniper, signed by his wife Taya, with a reference to Micah 6:8, a verse Taya appears fond of, as it has shown up on other pieces she has signed; see Lot 1323 in the Morphy November 2020 auction. (KJV: He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?). CONDITION: Excellent, NOS or equivalent, with only a few very minor handling marks. Mechanically fine, bore is bright and shiny with razor-sharp rifling and a touch of frosting at edges of lands. Case and accessories excellent, foam somewhat discolored and starting to deteriorate at edges, especially into sharp edges of pistol. An outstanding example.
