34" Heavy full octagon barrel is marked with makers name and model along with caliber in traditional manner on top flat. Post front sight in barrel type protector is dovetailed through. Coin finished action with double set triggers is fitted with mid range vernier tang sight. Action is engraved with near full coverage very finely cut and shaded large shaded scroll surrounding especially well done scenes on sides of action and lock. A rearing grizzly growls at onlooker on left side of action with mountain man in slouch hat Sharps rifle under his arm, knife drawn, is on right. Side of lock portrays same mountain man desperately reloading his rifle while confronted by snarling grizzly. Engravers signature, M Rabeno, (Marty, highly regarded founding member of Firearms Engraving Guild of America) is on bottom of action. Rifle is accompanied by a picture of award presented to Marty Rabeno from the Smith and Wesson FEGA award Reno 1999 "for an exemplary scene on a firearm". Undoubtedly referring to the superb rendition of mountain man on right side of action. Buttstock of wonderful crotch figured American walnut measures 14" over checkered metal buttplate and features nicely swept small shadow line right hand cheekpiece and modified point pattern checkering at grip. Matching forend has cast pewter tip. Rifle is accompanied by three plastic boxes containing .45/ 110 Sharps brass and a set of RCBS dies. Rear sight has leather bag protector and rifle comes in its original shipping box. CONDITION: Excellent, appears essentially as new, unfired with only the faintest of handling marks in all custom finished surfaces. Dies and brass are good. MGM 203
