With a production of only around 8,000 and most all utilized for the Italian Royal Navy under contract, the Model 1931 Beretta Navy is unquestionably rare. Chambered for the 7.65mm cartridge and having two piece wood grips with the Royal Navy monogram inset on both grips, this rare example is void of proof markings and was potentially a test or sample piece. This could explain the outstanding condition that shows no evidence of actual use only handling and storage. Manufactured from 1931 through the early stages of 1933 these guns where the transition from the 1923 Model to the 1934 Model. Example are rarely found and in fine condition are almost not heard of. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine with most all blue finish remaining with exception of high point losses from storage and handling. Bore is exceptional with no indication of actual use. The two piece grips with Navy monograms are excellent as well. This is the finest known example and is featured in J.B. Woods book on Beretta Automatic Pistol on page 57.
