Just under 1000 of these rifles were purchased by the Department of the Navy in 1942, and used for trophies. According to original disposition certificate (included) this particular rifle was awarded to Jerome P. Bish in 1987 for winning first place in the Grand Aggregate at Camp Perry. Remarks: Secretary of the Navy Trophy. Rifle is of standard configuration with 22" barrel and has all correct factory marks on barrel and action with crossed cannon logo, and inspectors initials "FJA" on left side of butt. Grip and forend are checkered. Sling loops are installed. Rifle comes in its original box with correct end label, all original packaging, and instruction booklet. Also included, and noted on end label, is a leather sling. CONDITION: Excellent, essentially as new, appears unfired. Bolt stamped with correct serial number, does not appear to have been installed since proof and original fitting. Box is fine, end label is clear. Packaging is a bit rumpled. MGM88.
