(1955) Usual configuration with 20" barrel, swept flat bolt handle, full length stock with steel tip, shadow line right hand cheekpiece, point pattern checkering, makers name and address on left side of action, fitted with optional single trigger. This model also has side safety on right, improved bolt stop, and hard rubber grip cap and butt plate. In 1955 the "Super Deluxe" retailed for just under $350.00 while a standard carbine was $205.00. The "Super Deluxe" had upgraded wood and relief engraving. The engraving on this carbine is superb, similar to patterns illustrated in the 1956 "Shooters Bible" with semi-relief vignettes of game including a roe buck on receiver ring flanked by relief acorns and oak leaves. Bolt handle is engraved with eidelweis flower flanked by scroll, floorplate with quartering royal stag, with another stag's head on trigger guard bow. Stock is of dense, lightly fiddle figured European walnut. CONDITION: Fine. Metal parts retain most of their original blue, considerably silvered from considerable hand wear, giving a very attractive counterpoint to the fine relief engraving. Stock retains most of its original hand rubbed finish. Checkering is lightly worn, most likely re-cut. Bore is excellent. Mechanically excellent. Rifle is accompanied by brown leather sling embossed "Stith Mounts". These carbines seldom come on the market. MGM 20.
