This carbine was manufactured by Saginaw and chambered for the .30 carbine cartridge. Barrel is stamped "Buffalo Arms 8-1943" with Ordinance bomb. No bayonet lug. Stock has a "P" as pistol grip but no visible cartouche at left side. Right side of stock has "SG" in a box with an Ordinance wheel on right side. Has two magazines. Metal retains most of the original parkerized finish. Comes with the original sling and oiler. Fine action. Strong clean bore. ME reading 1.0. Correct mix of Irwin-Pederson and S.G. parts. One of the nicer original examples. The Saginaw S.G. carbines are amongst the most desirable examples of this model. Approximately 293,592 were manufactured. It has the proper mix of S.G. and Irwin-Pederson stamped parts, which is a result of Irwin-Pederson not meeting the government quotas and the order was transferred to Saginaw. 30,000 barrels stamped "Buffalo" were shipped to S.G. in 1943. Other stamps include "RSG" in the sling well. Lowest production M1 carbine.
