This gun was most likely manufactured by Marlin, as it has the patent March 28th, 1871. It is a typical spur trigger revolver of the era with a 2-3/4" octagon barrel, five shot, single action, spur trigger, .32 caliber rimfire, with nickel finish and black plastic grips. The gun retains approximately 85% original factory nickel with the balance smooth. Strong colors on hammer and trigger. Grips are near mint. Indexes and locks up perfectly. Strong bore. Comes in a pipe case made of wood with one side engraved "Essex" and the other side engraved ".32 Cal.". It is hinged and lined. The case looks to be contemporary to the gun and fits perfectly, made specifically for this revolver.
