The manufacturing date is 1951. The 300 savage cartridge chambered in the pre '64 model 70 is amongst the scarcest of any produced. In the factory carbine version, the number produced is reduced proportionality leaving collectors on the constant hunt for the rarest of the rare. Add that rarity factor to the incredible condition of this carbine and those existing numbers fall to virtually non existent. Standard features include 20" barrels, bolt action and checkered walnut stock. Overall, gun retains fully 99% of the beautiful factory rust blue. Near mint stocks with sharp as new checkering with just a couple minor impressions. Action and bore are mint. Has original Winchester sling swivels. Original sporting sights with front hood. Rare. Enough to get the blood racing in any model 70 aficionado. Only 302 were produced from 1947 - 1954.
