Considered one of the true scarcities among Colt Civil War black powder revolvers, offered is the Model 1860 Colt Army with the full fluted cylinder. Approximately 4,000 of this model were manufactured between 1860 and 1861. This particular gun was manufactured in 1860, first year of production. Standard features include an 8" round barrel, single action, six shot, .44 caliber percussion, cut for shoulder stock, blued finish, and case colored frame. This revolver exhibits all matching numbers including cylinder. Wedge number (1732) does not match. Loading lever is not numbered. A homemade rear sight has been set into the rear of the barrel. Action works, a little spongy at full cock. Strong rifled bore with minor corrosion. Not U.S. marked. Has a "G" inspector mark on trigger guard. No visible cartouche on grips which have a few chips. Gun has no original finish and is basically grey-brown. There is some fine pitting on barrel in front of cylinder and on frame. Frame may have had some cold blue wiped on. Very good representative of a rare Civil War era revolver.
