This pistol was a prime competitor of the Colt Single Action Army in the period from 1875 to 1889. It is probably most noted for being the favorite hand gun of Frank James. This example is in spectacular condition retaining fully 97% of the original factory nickel finish. There is a rub on the ejector gate, a bit of high edge wear on cylinder, and a couple of minor freckles. Aside from that, the gun remains in near pristine condition. The caliber is .44 and is stamped on the rear trigger bow. Sports a pair of fine aged ivory grips, with the age stress grain and mellow tones clearly evident. The bore is strong and clean and action is tight as new. Factory stampings are perfect. Features a 7-1/2" barrel, six shot, and single action. This gun would be very hard to improve upon.
