Caliber .44 percussion, Barrel length 42”. Maker marked by G. Kopp who manufactured guns in York County Pennsylvania from 1830 - 1850’s. Barrel is stamped “G. Kopp” on the flat. Features full octagon barrel, simple blade front and open rear sights, full length stock, lightly incised with some stress cracks along forearm. Metal is dark brown patina, salt and pepper on lock and hammer. Mustard tone on brass butt plate and trigger guard. Brass butt plate is engraved and pierced. Has a small rollover cheek piece with silver moon decoration. Brass left side plate is engraved. Nickel thumb plaque. Wood stock is missing section of wood at tang behind hammer and is very dark. Not working.
