Lock marking has been changed from Charleville to “Libreville” (for ‘Liberty’). Pattern 1766. Top jaw and screw are old replacements. Barrel is from an old Model 1763 (marked). These were shortened and used on 1766 models. All metal is in the white. Barrel measures 9” with a .69 bore. Fine working action. These pistols were manufactured in France during the French revolution which explains the changing of the lock mark from Charleville to Libreville. Liberté, égalité, fraternité! Nice period piece from a very important event in European and French history.
