This rifle was originally built at Springfield December of 1943-March 1944. The manufacture stamp at rear has been polished off leaving only the serial number. The rear sight has been removed, chamber channeled for a sporting leaf front sight. Original holes are plugged. The side of the receiver has been drilled, tapped, and a Pachmayr side mount has been added. With an unmarked sporting sculpt. It has a custom fore-end rear barrel band removed. It has a custom metal cover for the gas trap, a homemade front sight has been added. The GI stock has been checkered and butt plate added. Customized front safety. Action needs attention.
