Upright floor model slot machine produced by Mills Novelty between 1903-1918. This machine features beautiful quarter sawn oak with carved floral and egg & dart molding, and recessed panels, as well as ornately detailed nickel-plated hardware. A nice original example with newer plating, replacement back door and instruction card. Players dropped their nickel into the upper coin head and used the side plunger to launch the coin into the playing field. If the coin landed in one of the nine pockets, the player would win the contents of the pocket. If players got their coin into the prize chute on the far left of the playing field, they would win a $1 token. Name plate in the field appears to be a reproduction. A very beautiful machine that plays well. Four keys are included.
