Manufactured 1918-1920. Offered is a standard U.S. Property blued six shot, double action revolver with smooth two piece walnut grips. Bottom of barrel and butt are military stamped with Springfield eagle and left frame with Colt pony. This revolver has seen very little use and retains about 97-98% finish, with the majority of blue on both grip straps. Excellent grips. Indexes fine both single and double action. Strong, clean bore. Comes with a proper era tan web belt with 1918 dated first aid pouch, an unopened kit, and a 1918 dated three tier half-moon ammo pouch with six half-moon clips. The holster is standard flat model with lanyard, marked "G&K 1917". Fine high condition, all original, complete rig. This revolver comes with a notarized letter stating that it was purchased from the great nephew of Lieutenant Samuel W. Everts of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Evarts served with the Corps of Engineers from World War I to World War II. Also comes with an 1918 enlistment paper with Evarts name, and his 1919 Treasury Department papers stating he entered the service on September 20, 1918 and discharged from COES December 1919 with a certificate of discharge. This lot, along with the two previous lots, were all acquired from a relative of the soldier, Lieutenant Samuel W. Evarts.
