Blued octagonal steel barrels with multigroove rifling, engraved patent breeches numbered "1" and "2" to match tangs, and top flats inscribed "Fni LePage Moutier a Paris". Diminutive sights on tops. Casehardened breeches and scroll-engraved percussion locks. Casehardened and engraved steel furniture including target triggerguards and buttcaps. Figured walnut half-stocks of familiar French form with flared fluted grips and relief carved scrolls on forends. Complete with their original mahogany case with vacant brass plaque on lid and burgundy velour-lined French fitted interior with two lidded compartments. Accessories include: a steel single cavity bullet mold, a wood handled nipple removal wrench, a rosewood mallet, a cleaning rod, and a ramrod. Flask is absent. Pistols are in very good condition, overall. One barrel retains about 85-90% bright original blue finish with some light edge wear and flaked losses turned to light brown. The other retains about 70-80% original blue with slightly more flaking. Casehardened components are mostly turned to grey with faded case colors. Actions are strong and both pistols show very little use. Stocks very good with a few light storage marks. Case with a few separation cracks on lid and some scattered marks, one piece missing near bottom on left side. Interior faded to a brown, except in protected or covered areas, some staining and wear, some borders slightly loose. Accessories very good, showing some marks from use and light wear. This is a very attractive set of pistols by a well-known and quality French maker. These exceptional pistols display very well! CORRECTION: These pistols are Belgian proofed and were not made by LePage. They were made to be retailed in Paris by LePage Moutier's retail shop.
