Antique State of California Deputy Fire Marshal Gold and Diamond Presentation Badge. Details from AIG appraisal report dated March 14, 2018: "The badge is a reproduction of the State of California Deputy Fire Marshal's Badge. Area measurements: 69 x 48 x 3mm. The 14K yellow gold electroplate obverse side of the badge includes the seal of the State of California with a diamond bezel surround, set below an eagle at rest. The 14K yellow gold reverse side of the badge includes a vertical base metal place pin. The reverse side of the badge was attached to the obverse side using a process known as "Sweat Soldering" during post production. The reverse side is the only section that is solid 14K yellow gold. Condition is good. During this evaluation our research department reached out to the California Office of the State Fire Marshal in Sacramento California. After researching their records, the O.S.F.M. stated that in the last thirty years there have been no Presentation Badges awarded. A similar State of California Deputy Fire Marshal Presentation Badge was sold by Christie's Auctioneers in 1997, That badge was awarded to an individual in the 1920's." Containing 38 prong set single cut round diamonds with an approximate total weight of 1.00cts., graded VS2-SI1 clarity, G-H color. Graded in setting. Gross weight 44.97 grams. Reverse marked "SOLID GOLD". Accompanied by AIG Independent Appraisal Report. ERV $11,000.00 to $25,000.00
