NOTE:We believe this work was created circa 1931-1932 as this was the only time that this artist is known to have painted in Taos
Hutchens was born in Canandaigua, New York and was a painter of landscape, portraits & figures and was also noted for his watercolors. He studied with Irving R. Wiles & Frank DuMond at the Art Students League as well as in Paris where he was a member of the Paris Association of American Artists SIZE: 36-1/2" x 40". Overall: 43-1/2" x 47-1/2" CONDITION: Surface dirt, lower right corner with 1" puncture and small chip in green area; otherwise very good 52124-3 WAG (8,000-12,000)
