Lot contains: (A) German Naval Sword by "Horster" and (B) German Naval Sword by "WKC". (A) The German Naval Sword made by "Horster" is in, overall, very good condition. The 33" blade is in very good condition, with approximately 30% freckling and a few light marks throughout. The blade is maker marked with the "Horster" motto. The solid brass hilt and hand guard are in excellent condition. The white trylon grip is in excellent condition and is decorated with a twisted brass wire. The scabbard is made of leather and has scattered light marks throughout. The scabbard fittings are void of their original gilding, but are still in excellent condition. The numbers on the scabbard throat and the hilt do not match. (B) The German Naval Sword made by "WKC" is in overall very good condition. The 33" blade is maker marked for the firm "WKC". The blade has approximately 10% freckling throughout. The brass hilt and hand guard are in excellent condition. The hinged clam shell guards work properly. The white trylon grip is wrapped with a twisted brass wire, and is in near mint condition. The scabbard is made of leather and is fitted with brass fittings. The leather on the scabbard shows scattered light marks and the brass fittings have light freckling throughout. The upper and lower fittings of the scabbard are missing their retaining staples. This sword comes with a braided sword hanger, with minor fraying in the area where it has held the sword, thats rates in very good condition.
