Lot contains: (A) Bavarian "Eickhorn" sword, and (B) Prussian "Coppel" sword. (A) Bavarian sword marked "Carl Eickhorn" with a 34" blade in overall near mint condition. Blade is double etched with a 4" panel on each side with the motto "In Treue Fest", and is in near mint condition, with light runner marks and a couple of minor spots of freckling near the tip. Gilted brass fittings and wire-wrapped trylon grip are near mint, with more than 90% of the gilt finish remaining. Scabbard retains more than 93% of its original black painted finish with scattered marks. Sword has an original portepee with green finished leather. (B) Imperial German Prussian sword made by "Alexander Coppel" with a 29" blade in overall excellent condition. Blade is in very good to excellent, and has light runner marks, scattered light marks, and areas of freckling of about 10%. Nickel fittings and wire-wrapped trylon grip are excellent, with one strand of wire being loose. Leather scabbard with nickel plated fittings are excellent, with some areas of wear to the leather.
