Although the J.K. Farnell Company was founded in the 1840's, the first Alpha teddy bears made their appearance around 1910. During the World War I years and beyond, the company produced high quality bears with immense charm. In this 1920's Alpha Farnell example the mohair is a rich gold. The 20" teddy bear has expressive glass eyes, an inoperable growler, original stitching and is five way jointed. A distinct "hump" and elongated arms add to his classic form. The J.K. Farnell Company was, of course, the creator of the original "Winnie - the Pooh." Some loss to muzzle fur.

Item Dimensions: 20" T.
RARE EARLY ENGLISH FARNELL ALPHA TEDDY BEAR.
