One of the most widely used carbines of the Civil War. This is the most desirable gun by soldiers. Reliable breech loading through tube in stock. Features round barrel, single band, post front sight, folding ladder rear, blue finish, case colored lever, case colored hammer, saddle ring and bar on left side, walnut stock, carbine butt and sling swivel. Left side of stock has the two original cartouche stampings. CONDITION: Entire gun has been finely refinished making the metal appear near new. Stock is excellent with usual dings. Initials "EK" are carved in left side. The original block has been replaced with a modern, which allows it to shoot centerfire cartridges. Comes with loading dies, approximately 200 rounds of brass, bullet mold and original .56 rim fire block. The cases are made from cut down .50-70 Government cartridges. The Spencer factory stamp is still visible on top of frame. Action and bore are like new. Beautiful, restored, original Spencer that you can take out to the range and shoot. Why shoot a replica when you can shoot an original Civil War carbine.
