Typical Mid-War Colt US 1911. Right side of slide has the crossed cannons, introduced in 1942, along with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "MODEL OF 1911 US ARMY". Top of slide has proof "P". Left side of slide has patent dates with pony in center. Left side of frame has "GHD" Guy Dewey inspector stamp and proof "P". Features all mid-war parts to include square not rear sight with beveled edges, spurless checkered hammer checkered slide stop and safety, short checkered trigger, serrated arched mainspring housing with loop, Keyes style brown composite grips, blued magazine stamped with "R" Risdon Tool & Machine. Gun has distinct temper line at muzzle. CONDITION: Gun has a few handling marks but still retains 97% of the matte parkerized arsenal applied finish. Fine bore and action. Nice example of a World War II Colt.
