Professionally restored by James River Arsenal, this rifle was manufactured by J.P. Sauer & Sohn in 1937. Receiver ring is marked "S/147 / 1937" with early war drooping eagle Waffenamts. Russian "X" capture mark is partially obliterated by hole for scope mount. Laminated stock with early war buttplate. Jena Zielvier scope with extended sniper bolt safety. Serial numbers have been renumbered to match receiver. Stocks appear to be refurbished and have new Mauser "WaA655" waffenamt stamps with a new Heer eagle over "H" stamp. Metal components have been refinished in a black finish. Receiver has been drilled to accommodate the scope mounts. Complete with cleaning rod, reproduction sling, manual, and original James River Armory invoice. Camp Perry National Match sticker wrapped around trigger guard. CONDITION: Metal components show light pitting under finish. Little to no wear to finish aside from small areas of loss to where the scope mounts. Markings on metal components are soft, but legible. Scope shows few minor cosmetic handling marks. Stocks show little to no handling or storage marks. Bright bore with strong rifling throughout. Mechanically excellent.
