Early 1980s Russian Lieutenant General land Forces uniform including double breasted tunic, trousers, and visor hat. The double-breasted dress tunic is olive drab wool with red piping around the collar, shoulders, and cuffs. The red piped shoulder boards are silk brocade with gold bullion stars. The buttons display the State Emblem of the USSR and on the reverse show the marking "82" denoting the year 1982. The tunic is lined by fine silk. There is a maker's tag sewn in the inside pocket. The ribbons are lead by the Order of the Red Banner of Labour, the Order of the Red Star and the Order for Service to Homeland. These high awards are followed by an assortment of service ribbons. The trousers are made of the same material and are the same shade of olive drab as the tunic. The trousers have two red stripes that extend the length of the legs as are appropriate for the general rank. The hat is made of the same material as the tunic and trousers. Interior has a maker's label and the size number "55" which appears to have been written with blue paint. CONDITION: Tunic shows light fraying around the cuffs and liner has minor frays and tears from service use. Trousers display light fraying and stains near heavy wear areas. Hat has very minor blemishes throughout, two cuts in sweatband, probably to attach the badge. Overall Very Good Condition. JD
