24K gold key to the City of Peking (now Beijing), gift from Chairman Mao to then President, Richard Nixon. Nixon subsequently gifted the key to his navigator on Air Force One. Acquired directly from Frederick C. Franklin along with original "Letter of Guarantee, No. 802" document. Franklin is a retired lieutenant colonel of the U.S. Air Force, and served four years as staff navigator of the 98th Military Airlift Squadron in the 1970's. Key is handmade with hand engraved yin and yang decoration. Key measures 4-1/8" in length, and has a gross weight of 11.2 grams.
