Circa late 1930s-early 1940s Flottorp Design 36-50 airplane propeller. The Flottorp Manufacturing Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan was founded in 1912, by Norwegian native Ole Flottorp. This Propeller is crafted from wood featuring a clear lacquer finish with brass edging. The right side of the center hub is marked with the specifications "18160 / DES. 36-50 / H.P. 50". Propellers marked with the drawing number 36-50 were manufactured for the 50 horsepower Continental A 50 engines that were used on Piper, Taylorcraft, and Porterfield aircraft. There are 2 Flottorp decals on each end of the wood blades that read "Both Blades Alike / FLOTTORP / Grand Rapids, Mich.". The propeller comes with a hand made mount from the previous consigner. CONDITION: The propeller exhibits various scratches and scuffs but is in overall good condition. This propeller is not recommended for use on an aircraft and would make a nice display. JLD
