Moore's patent 7 shot single action revolver, serial number 3436. Manufactured from 1861-1863, these revolvers were short lived due to Smith & Wesson patent infringement lawsuit, which Moore's Patent Firearms Company lost. Although they were not manufactured for a long amount of time, they were very popular especially with Union troops during the American Civil War. 4" octagonal barrel chambered in .32 Rimfire with cone front sight and hammer notch rear. Frame and recoil shield are factory engraved with New York style scrolls on a punchdot background. 1 piece plain walnut grips. CONDITION: Very good, with nearly all of the original bluing faded to a blue-gray patina with light pitting and handling marks throughout. Traces of original nickel plating remaining on frame and recoil shield with a majority of the nickel finish remaining on trigger guard and backstrap assembly. Grips are strong and original, retaining most of their original finish with wear at high edges and handling marks throughout. Action needs some attention as the hand appears to be broken and the cylinder will not advance when hammer is pulled rearward. Bore is bright with moderate abrasion and sharp rifling. TON
