Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad ALCO builders plate from famed 2-8-4 "Kanawha" type locomotive number 2703. This plate comes from the first order of Kanawhas the C&O placed with ALCO in 1943 and was delivered in December of that year. Back of plate is original with some rust showing through old black paint. Casting No. "L6214". Face of plate shows old black paint in field with gold paint on characters and numerals, as well as border.
