Standard configuration P.08 Luger assembled with Mauser components on an Erfurt frame. Mauser receiver is stamped "1939" over the chamber, with a faint "(Eagle) / L" police proof on the right side and a "(Crown) / U" commercial proof on the left. Toggle bears the Mauser banner logo. Left side of receiver is fitted with a sear safety. The right side of the Pre-WWI Erfurt frame bears a hold-open alteration. Metal components are blued, with the frame being mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, receiver, trigger bar, breechblock, as well as the toggles, with most components likely being renumbered at some point in time to match. Pistol is accompanied by a 1939 dated "R. EHRHARDT/ POESSNECK" marked leather holster, containing a spare unnumbered magazine, a loading tool, as well as 2 spare extractors. CONDITION: Excellent, as refinished, exhibiting some light wear and a few marks from handling and storage overall. Sideplate shows oxidation beneath the finish. Poor bore, exhibiting dark oxidation and fair rifling throughout. Grips show smoothing and wear overall, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. Holster is very good, with some spots of age related cracking overall. MLW
