20th century. Continental. The deeply carved back, the scrollwork, and leafy crest centering a cartouche paint decorated with a scene of a courting couple within a landscape. The crest is flanked by cupid busts, the back joined to horizontal padded arms on scrolled supports with acanthus carved knees, centering a trapezoidal over-upholstered seat. The chair raised on molded cabriole frontal legs, and backswept rear legs on casters. All surfaces original. Champagne striped silk fabric "as new". Very good overall. CORRECTION: Title updated
