Manufactured during the Civil War by the Spencer Repeating Rifle Company. Post-War arsenal sleeved 3-groove rifled barrel with blade front sight and flip up ladder rear. Standard case hardened action without Stabler cut off. Plain walnut forend retained by a single barrel band. Very fine replacement butt stock with case hardened buttplate and magazine. CONDITION: Good. Barrel and receiver display a mottled gray patina. Lockplate and end of magazine retain significant traces of case color. Buttplate retains the vast majority of its case colors. Forend is very good with a few mild marks. Stock fits proudly and shows only a few impressions. Bore retains strong rifling with black powder oxidation. Good mechanics.
